UNC is the most tested team left in the tournament having played 11 games against teams left in the Sweet 16. Those 11 games have come against six teams. UNC has played Louisville three times, Duke twice, NC State twice, Notre Dame twice, Kentucky, and UCLA. However, Duke and UCLA have also gone head to head with six remaining tournament teams. Duke has played Notre Dame three times, NC State twice, UNC twice, Wisconsin, Louisville, and Michigan State. UCLA has played Utah twice, Arizona, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Gonzaga, North Carolina,
UK and Arizona are undefeated against their tournament competition, which gives them the best record. Both Arizona and Kentucky faced off against 3 different teams, with Arizona beating a ranked Utah (8th and 13th) and unranked UCLA twice each, and 9th ranked Gonzaga once. Kentucky beat number 21 UNC, a 4th ranked Louisville, and an unranked NC State once each.
Michigan State, Wichita State, and Xavier have not won this season against a Sweet 16 team. Fortunately for them, they have combined to play three teams a total of four times. However, it is UCLA, Louisville, and North Carolina look like they are in trouble. They have played a combined 11 teams a total of 26 times and have 6 wins with 4 of those wins coming in games against each other.
Xavier has not played a game against any of the remaining teams in the tournament. They performed well against ranked teams during the season going 6-3 with all three losses coming at the hands of Villanova and 3 of those wins coming against Georgetown and two against Butler.
